Nashville, Tennessee (February 28, 2011) – Newly-announced ACM Award winners, The Band Perry, premiered their new video for "You Lie" today, which is now airing on CMT and GAC. "You Lie" is the third single from their Gold-certified debut album, THE BAND PERRY, and has become the trio’s fastest-climbing radio single to date on the Billboard Country Singles Chart.
The video forthe sassy anthem of a woman scorned was directed by David McClister and showcases rich Southern Gothic imagery. Throughout the narrative, Kimberly waits in vain for her betrothed at a sumptuous dinner party as brothers Neil and Reid plan a reckoning with the dishonorable gentleman. A range of emotions, from disappointment to frustration to vengeance, are on display in the "You Lie" video as well as a different look for the breakthrough Country band.
Last Friday The Band Perry was thrilled to learn of their early ACM Award for Top New Vocal Duo or Group, as announced by The Academy of Country Music (ACM) and Great American Country (GAC). Voted on by country music fans, this win earns them a slot on the nominee ballot for Top New Artist. The category is the next round of the fan-voted competition and will be given out on the 46th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards broadcast LIVE from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, April 3 at 8:00 PM live ET/delayed PT on the CBS Television Network.
Voting for ACM Top New Artist will take place at VoteACM.com, powered by CBS.com, beginning March 11 at 12noon PT and will continue until 5pm PST on Sunday, April 3.
