Joseph S. Bonsall’s From My Perspective Book Signing & Bluegrass Music Event at LifeWay in Downtown Nashville
Nashville, TN (June 2, 2011) - Singer-songwriter-author Joe Bonsallwill be signing his latest book, From My Perspective, from 2-4 p.m.,Wednesday, June 8, at the downtown Nashville LifeWay Christian Store, 1010 Broadway, across from the Frist Center for the Visual Arts.
Many people know Bonsall as the high voice in the legendary country music group The Oak Ridge Boys, but he is also a notable author, who enjoys writing about his faith, and a bluegrass music enthusiast. The June 8th signing event will include Joe, along with other musicians, jamming informally from the “front porch” of the LifeWay store. The live music will be interspersed with conversation and questions from the audience.
From My Perspective, published by Journey Press, is a collection of commentaries, stories and inspirationals about life, music, faith, and America. In the book, Joe relates stories from 35 years on the road with The Oak Ridge Boys; shares moments with celebrity friends, such as the late Johnny Cash and Dottie Rambo; and draws on disparate experiences in his life. Integral to all of those experiences is his faith.
“My publisher gave me a broad canvas to write upon,” Bonsall says, “and I took advantage of the opportunity, sharing stories and thoughts about most everything imaginable. I hope readers will enjoy my anecdotes, at the heart of which is a definite message of optimism and faith.”
Joe’s previous books include the bestselling G.I. Joe & Lillie: Remembering a Life of Love & Loyalty and The Molly Books four-book children’s series, as well as The Oak Ridge Boys An American Journey: Over 30 Years on the Road to Memories, Music, & Legend and An Inconvenient Christmas. To date, Joe has sold nearly a quarter million books.
“I never thought I would be considered a writer,” he adds. “I will consider myself successful if I inspire people to become a better American, a better parent or grandparent, or a better Christian.”
The June 8th event at the LifeWay store is the culmination of several appearances Joe will be making during the week of CMA Music Festival in Nashville. He, along with the other three members of The Oak Ridge Boys, will be performing at the Grand Ole Opry on Tuesday night, June 7. Additionally, The Oak Ridge Boys are the co-grand marshals of the CMA Music Fest parade, which will take place on the morning of June 8 in downtown Nashville.
