GRETCHEN WILSON WELCOMES SPECIAL GUEST AT FAN CLUB PARTY Gretchen Wilson packed the new Studio Gallery at Fontanel for her fan club party on Saturday, where she performed some of her biggest hits, answered questions from the audience and explained the upcoming tour with her buddies Big & Rich, Cowboy Troy and Two Foot Fred. Her set included her biggest hits, such as "Redneck Woman," "Here For The Party," "Work Hard Play Harder" and more. She also performed moving renditions of "Angel From Montgomery" and "Merle Haggard's "Natural High" before turning the mic over to a special guest - a special guest with a history dating back to Gretchen's childhood. When Gretchen and her brother Josh were children living in Miami, Florida, they would sit on a wall and watch the taping of the hit tv show "Miami Vice" starring Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas. Thomas often went out of his way to be friendly to them, a gesture they never forgot. Forward 25+ years, and Gretchen was informed that the daughter of Thomas, 19-year-old Imaj Thomas, is an aspiring country artist from the Dallas area, who sings "Redneck Woman" in her set. When Gretchen found out Imaj would be in Nashville for last week's CMA Music Festival, she invited her to come out and sing at her fan club party. Imaj performed two songs for the appreciative audience and received an enthusiastic thumbs-up from Gretchen. The much-anticipated Xtreme Muzik The Tour with Gretchen and Big & Rich and featuring Cowboy Troy and Two Foot Fred kicks off in Springfield, Missouri this Saturday and will hit upwards of 40 markets through the fall. |
