HOOTIE & THE BLOWFISH ADD SECOND NIGHT TO HOMEGROWN BENEFIT

Band’s Only Public Performance of the Year to Feature Saturday Music Festival on Family Circle Tennis Center Grand Lawn Followed by Evening Engagement  
Homegrown Concerts Slated for August 12 and 13; Tickets On-Sale Wednesday, June 22

Nashville, Tenn. (Thursday, June 16, 2011) – Marking their ninth anniversary of annual benefit concert, Homegrown, in hometown of Charleston, South Carolina, world-renowned Hootie & The Blowfishwill come together for their only public appearances of 2011 during a two-night musical engagement at Family Circle Tennis Center beginning Friday, August 12.  As an added feature to the annual event benefiting area schools, Hootie & The Blowfish have not only added a second evening concert but also a daytime festival on Saturday, August 13 featuring Ken Block & Andrew Copeland of Sister Hazel as well as other national and regional acts. 
“What a great way for all of our community to come together for a meaningful cause,” says Hootie guitarist Mark Bryan.  “Over the years our fans have shown enormous support for the education system with their support of Homegrown, and we’re hoping by expanding the event, we can encourage others to expand their support.  Not to mention with the addition of the lawn concerts and two nights’ worth of music, the event will showcase some of the great talent this scene has to offer.”
In addition, on Saturday, August 13 Hootie & the Blowfish will once again partner with the Charleston County School District for the fifth annual Hootie’s Homegrown Roundup: Back to School Basics, a back to school program providing children with school supplies and other services necessary to be well-prepared to start the 2011/2012 school year. The event will take place from 11 AM to 3 PM at Burke High School, located at 244 President Street in Charleston.
Weekend festival packages will start at $47.50 and will be available through ticketmaster.com and familycirclecup.com/concerts or by calling the Family Circle Tennis Center Box Office at (843) 856-7900.   Ticket on-sale will be Wednesday, June 22nd with priority ticketing being offered to Hootie Fan Community as well as Darius Rucker Fan Club.
