GARTH BROOKS' SUNDAY CONCERT
Brooks knew that Carolin had a passion for supporting the military as he once served as vice-president of the Arizona Chapter of the National Football League Alumni organization, a non-profit organization comprised of former professional football players and coaches dedicated to their charity “Caring for Kids.”
Ray called the CEO’s of a number of children’s toy and sporting goods companies, and Spalding Sporting Goods, a division of Fruit of the Loom answered his call for a Christmas miracle. Spalding has donated 14,616 toys that will arrive by semi-trailer truck accompanied by Santa Claus at Bridgestone Arena at 4:00 PM this Sunday afternoon where they will be delivered to the U.S. Marines just in time for Christmas.
“I was honored that Garth would think of having his assistant call me” he said. “ The opportunity to help Garth in his efforts to help our buddies in the U.S. Marine Corp. and their Toys for Tots program is an honor.” said Carolin.
“What Spalding has done is absolutely awesome and I am honored to have played a very small part in touching the lives of so many children in Middle Tennessee. Spalding’s generosity and incredible spirit of giving makes this a very special Christmas for me and my family.”
Carolin and his NFL Alumni buddies along with the Buffalo Bills cheerleaders will be leaving Nashville heading for Iraq and Afghanistan. They will be embarking on their sixth USO -Armed Forces Entertainment sponsored trip visiting U.S. military bases overseas.
The drop will take place in front of the Bridgestone Arena on 5th St. Media should arrive on site Sunday, December 19th at 3:30pm. The trucks will arrive at 4pm.
