THE BAND PERRY EARNS FIRST-EVER GRAMMY NOMINATION JUST DAYS AFTER SCORING THEIR FIRST #1 RADIO HIT IN THE US!
 
Nashville, Tennessee (December 2, 2010) – The Band Perry (Kimberly, Neil and Reid) heard of their first-ever Grammy nomination mid-show last night while performing to a capacity crowd in Calgary, Alberta, Canada during a special show for Calgary 105 FM listeners.
 
As the sibling trio prepared to launch into their current #1 hit "If I Die Young," the show was stopped by a Big Machine Label Group/Republic Nashville representative who gave the band and their audience the amazing news.
 
As the crowd went wild, Kimberly Perry, who wrote the band's runaway hit was nearly speechless saying, "Thank you - this has been a whirlwind year and we have you guys and Country radio to thank."
 
The Band Perry gave a bow of acknowledgement to the cheers of the crowd and didwhat they do best, performed the rest of a fantastic, high energy show.
 
Earlier this week, The Band Perry’s “If I Die Young” hit #1 on the US Country radio charts, according to both Billboard Magazine and Country Aircheck/USA Todaypowered by Mediabase.
 
ABOUT THE BAND PERRY: The trio of siblings released a five-song EP on Republic Nashville in April 2010 as their first single, "Hip To My Heart" broke the Top 20 at Country Radio. The band's second single, "If I Die Young" went to radio as they toured the country, opening for such artists as Keith Urban, Brooks & Dunn and ZacBrown Band. Written by the band, "If I Die Young" has now sold one million copies, racked up more than eleven million views on YouTube and topped the Country Radio charts with its inspirational message of appreciating thetime one is given. The Band Perry’s October 2010 album release, THE BAND PERRY, debuted at #2 (Country) and #4 (Billboard Top 200) and has since shipped 300,000 copies. As fans have embraced the family band, so too have their industry peers – TBP received a CMA nomination for Best Vocal Group, received three American Country Award nominations and a Grammy nomination. They havetoured most recently with the legendary Alan Jackson and are excited to announce new upcoming tour plans soon.
