NashvilleTN – To say the least, 2010 has been a big year for Sea Gayle/Arista Nashville recording artist Jerrod Niemann!

Niemann just received news that Judge Jerrod & The Hung Jury (Sea Gayle/Arista Nashville) made the New York Times Top 10 Albums of 2010 compiled by Jon Caramanica.  “His major-label debut [is] full of startlingly sturdy country songs, emotionally affecting and unafraid of being clever,” the music critic gives as basis for his year-end nod for the album, which was co-produced by Niemann and Dave Brainard.  Upon release of the album on July 13th, Carmanica cheered in a review, “In sum, Mr. Niemann is a gentleman outlaw, but mostly he’s a history-minded technician on this thoughtful, magnetic record.”

As year-end charts come to a close, Jerrod Niemann remains the only major label debut artist in 2010 to score a #1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart.  When first-week sales forJudge Jerrod & The Hung Jury approached 34,000 copies according to Nielsen SoundScan, Lady Antebellum’s six-month streak atop Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart came to an end.  Not only did his album earn the #1 country slot, it landed an impressive debut on the all-genre Billboard 200 album sales chart, entering at #7.

On the singles front, Niemann had an impressive 2010 as well!  Within a month of the release of his critically-acclaimed album, the single “Lover, Lover” peaked at #1 on both Billboardand Country Aircheck charts, and the smash hit, now with sales in excess of 700,000 copies according to Nielsen SoundScan, has received RIAA certification as a Gold Digital Single. His current, chart-climbing single, “What Do You Want,” which Niemann co-penned with Richie Brown and Rachel Bradshaw, is #21 on Billboard and #22 on Country Aircheck airplay charts.

Additional highlights of 2010 included a nomination for CMA “New Artist of the Year,” 3 nominations for the American Country Awards, a slot on Gary Allan’s Get Off On The Pain Tour, his debut on the Grand Ole Opry along with subsequent appearances, an AquaPalooza 2010 performance with Brad Paisley at Lake Travis near Austin, Texas, and much, much more.

With his sights set on 2011, Jerrod Niemann is hitting the road nationwide!  On January 15, the country hitmaker returns to Liberal, Kansas, for a special homecoming concert to benefit the booster club of his alma mater, Liberal High School The 1,000 seats at the high school auditorium sold-out within 14 minutes in early December – not bad for a town with a population of  20,000.

The Sea Gayle/Arista Nashville recording artist begins his tour with superstar headliner Brad Paisley on the H2O Frozen Over Tour, starting January 20 at the Resch Center in Green Bay,Wisconsin Paisley’s tour will conclude on February 26 at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.
