Kenny Chesney Sells Out  His 6th Boston Stadium Show in 8 Minutes

FoxboroMABoston is a city that loves music and loves sports. And for the sixth time, Kenny Chesney will take the field in FoxboroMA to a sold-out Gillette Stadium crowd. Tickets went on-sale this morning at 10 a.m. eastern for the August 27th show and were sold out in 8 minutes.

Chesney is fresh off his 20th Number One Single “The Boys of Fall” which pays homage to football. The 90 minute documentary “Boys of Fall” which is available now at Wal-Mart, finds Chesney interviewing some of the biggest names in the sport such as Joe Namath, Peyton Manning, John Madden, and Bobby Bowden.  A 60-minute version of the film debuted on ESPN earlier this year.

Of the quick sell out Chesney enthused, “I can't wait to feel the energy of Foxboro again!! I missed it this year, I really did! The love affair I share with the fans in New England is like no other and that has been built over the years!  I can't wait to see their faces and spend an evening with them next summer!  It’s gonna feel like coming home.”

In spite of taking off this past year, the 4-time Country Music Association and 4-in-a-row- Academy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year -- found himself as the second biggest ticket seller of the decade where he played to more than one million fans for 8 consecutive summers. During Chesney’s year-off, he released his live concert film, Kenny Chesney: Summer In 3-D, the “Boys of Fall” Documentary, and his critically acclaimed album, Hemingway’s Whiskey which debuted at Number One on Billboard’s all genre Top 200 Chart. It’s was Chesney’s sixth album to debut at that coveted spot and his tenth album to hit Number One on the Country Album Chart.

Considering he's sold close to 60,000 tickets at Gillette Stadium in each of his past five performances, it's safe to say there's a special bond between Chesney and the people ofBoston. With the Corona Extra sponsored Goin’ Costal Tour, the first official sell-out of his 2011 concert season, Chesney’s fans are obviously excited to have him back on the road.

And on August 27th in FoxboroMA, the man, who recorded “Boston” on his introspective Be As You Are: Songs from an Old Blue Chair and chunks of his Live Those Songs Again concert collection at Gillette Stadium, returns to Massachusetts for what's going to be the summer’s biggest party.
