NASHVILLE - Acclaimed jazz vocalist Anna Wilson made her Grand Ole Opry debut last night (11/16) at the historic Ryman Auditorium, performing songs from her upcoming albumCountrypolitan Duets. Special guests joining Wilson were Opry member Connie Smith, country singer Billy Dean, jazz icon Larry Carlton and American Idol finalist Matt Giraud, who appear on the album which magically marries country, jazz and pop. Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum, RascalFlatts, Kenny Rogers, Ray Price, and steel guitar great Lloyd Green, are among the other featured artists on the album produced by Wilson’ husband, hit songwriter/producer Monty Powell.
Countrypolitan Duets, which is scheduled for release February 1, 2011, also marks the premier album to be released under a new joint venture between Music World Music and Transfer Records (Wilson and Powell’s newly formed label).
