JASON ALDEAN RELEASES
"THE TRUTH"AS THIRD SINGLE
OFF TOP SELLING THIRD ALBUM 


NASHVILLE, TN - September 21, 2009 - Platinum selling country rocker Jason Aldean is releasing "The Truth" as the third single from his critically acclaimed third album WIDE OPEN this week with an official add date of Mon., Sept. 28.

 "This is one of those songs that I heard the first time and knew I wanted to cut," says Aldean. "It's about a relationship going bad and the guy just losing it over this girl.  He's basically begging...saying 'make up whatever story you want, tell 'em I left town or whatever you need to say...just don't tell 'em the truth.'   I don't know a guy who hasn't been through that before."

 Written by Ashley Monroe and Brett James, "The Truth" is a mid-tempo plea for mercy, laden with electric and lap steel guitar, that allows Aldean to pour his soul into the expressive vocal.
