NASHVILLETENN. (June 30, 2011) – “I never expected that if I wrote a treatment, a director would love it and want to direct the video exactly the way I’d written it,” says Taylor Swift of her newest video, “Mean.”  Swift and video director Declan Whitebloom share stories and take fans behind the scenes of the video shoot in On The Set With Taylor Swift: Mean premiering this Sunday, July 3, 9:00 p.m./Eastern on Great American Country (GAC).

Swift had her reasons for wanting to shoot in LA’s historic Orpheum Theater.  “It occurred to me after months of thinking about this video and having it keep me up at night, ‘What if we did the entire video in a theater?’  That way we could show all these different story lines and create set pieces that would show these very distinctive performances, having all of these characters struggle and then thrive.”  Set designers and art directors created a variety of sets including the wide open prairie tundra, a school bathroom and a fashion runway.  “The first time I saw these sets, I absolutely couldn’t believe it, I was in awe,” Swift recalls.  “I love the big city performance scene because just the wardrobe alone was fantastic.  I got this awesome flapper dress and getting to work that dress and just the motion; every time you moved, the dress moved.”

Actors featured in the video’s three vignettes include 11-year-old Joey King, best known for her role as Ramona in the film “Ramona and Beezus.”   Swift also had a four-legged co-star, Matilda the goat.  “It’s one of those moments of, like, ‘Really?’ I’m shooting a music video and we have a goat on the stage?’  She was pretty good at standing there, just blinking, just being a goat.”

“Mean” took two days to shoot and Swift is thrilled with the end result.  “Visually it just goes in line with everything I’ve been obsessed with lately like theaters and productions.  It tells stories that to me, really matter, and it’s also just really fun.”
NFL Star Chad Ochocinco Takes a Ride with NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Veteran Jeff Burton at Atlanta Motor Speedway

HAMPTON, Ga. (June 30, 2011) – After trying his hand at professional soccer and riding a bull, Cincinnati Bengals Wide Receiver Chad Ochocinco came to Atlanta Motor Speedway on Thursday to get a taste of NASCAR racing.

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Veteran Jeff Burton and crew were on hand to provide Ochocinco with a high speed tutorial, both on and off the track. After taking a few hot laps in the No. 31 Caterpillar Chevrolet, Ochocinco received a lesson on how a pit stop works with the Caterpillar pit crew. He then tried his hand at changing tires and jacking up the car.

“This ranks right up there with the bull riding, man,” said Ochocinco. “It’s not until you actually get in a car with these guys, like today with Jeff Burton, that you realize how dangerous this sport is and the amount of skill it takes to run out there with other drivers.

“The pit crew was difficult. I tried to do some of the things that they’ve been doing, as far as changing tires and jack the car up. Other than that, it’s difficult. Especially because I’m out of my element, but it was fun, it was a great experience.”

Ochocinco told track officials, should he not have any NFL obligations, he would love to attend the AdvoCare 500 on Sept. 4 to see it in person.

NASCAR night racing returns to Atlanta Motor Speedway this Labor Day weekend, Sept. 2-4. Tickets for the AdvoCare 500 start at $39 and $19 for students. Children 12 and under admitted free for the Great Clips 300 and the Atlanta 200 with an adult ticket. For more information, call the Atlanta Motor Speedway Ticket Office at (877) 9-AMS-TIX, (770) 946-4211 or visit

The new set also enters Billboard’s Top 200 albums chart at #5. The 3rd highest Country debut this year, beating first week numbers from many superstar artists, including recent releases from Ronnie Dunn and Sara Evans.

Outpaced this year by only Brad Paisley’s THIS IS COUNTRY MUSIC and Alison Krauss and Union Station’s PAPER AIRPLANE, this impressive debut further underscores Justin Moore’s status as one of the hottest artists in country music.

Moore kicked off the street week for his sophomore album  in New York City, making appearances on “Fox News”, “ABC News” and “Better TV.” He also interviewed with radio and television stations around the country via satellite from a boat in the lake in Central Park.

Critics have lauded this Arkansas native’s backwoods charm, prompting The Washington Post to describe his music as “consistently brawny and upbeat, reminiscent at times of Hank Williams Jr.” and The New York Times hails him as a “a strong and versatile singer,” as well as a songwriter whose lyrical “fantasies of regional pride and class revenge are the meat and potatoes of modern country music”.

The album’s lead single If Heaven Wasn’t So Far Away is also headed for the #1 spot.  It is the fastest rising single of his career sitting at #4 this week and has sold nearly 300,000 copies to date.

About Justin Moore: Justin Moore’s star has grown significantly since he was named Billboard’s “Top New Country Artist of 2009.”  This Southern Country stylist has sold over 1.2 million digital downloads to date and has scored three consecutive smash hits from his debut album (the #1 “Small Town USA”; Top 5 “Backwoods”; and Top 20 “How I Got To Be This Way”).  His self-titled album, which debuted in the Top 10 of the Billboard Top 200, was recognized as one of the best albums of 2009 by The New York Times and garnered him a CMT Music Award nomination. About the Valory Music Co.: The Valory Music Co., the second of three labels established under the Big Machine Label Group umbrella, opened in November 2007.  The label celebrated its first #1 album with Jewel’s PERFECTLY CLEAR only 7 months after launching and then celebrated its first #1 single just 3 months later when Jimmy Wayne’s, “Do You Believe Me Now,” spent 3 weeks atop the Country singles charts.  In November 2008 the label signed multimedia superstar Reba McEntire who saw her first Valory Music Co. album release KEEP ON LOVING YOU debut at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 and spend two consecutive weeks at #1 on the Billboard Country Albums Chart. Since then Reba has enjoyed the two biggest chart hits of her illustrious 30+ year career when, “Consider Me Gone,” spent a historic 4 weeks at #1 and, “Turn on the Radio,” followed, allowing Reba to both begin and end 2010 at #1.  Southern stylist Justin Moore’s poignant anthem, “Small Town USA,” reached #1 in October of 2009 and he has quickly become a Country Radio airplay staple as well as a touring force to be reckoned with.  New to the label is southern Country-Rock sensation Brantley Gilbert who has already topped the Country Singles Charts by writing, “My Kinda Party,” for Jason Aldean.  Brantley Gilbert has a new album due later this year.  The Valory Music Co. possesses an exclusive, in-house promotion branding team while utilizing existing Big Machine Records backroom service and is distributed by UMGD.

Kids Allowed in Pits at Atlanta Motor Speedway Due To New 2011 NASCAR Pit Road Policy

HAMPTON, Ga. (June 28, 2011) – For years, family and NASCAR have been synonymous with one another. This year, children can do more than watch the cars from the grandstands, they can get close enough to touch them.

Prior to the AdvoCare 500 on September 4, children of all ages have access to the pits via a new rule NASCAR instituted in 2011. With the purchase of a Sunday pre-race pit pass, kids will get to watch crew members prepare their racing machines and pit areas prior to 500 miles of racing on the high banks of the historic 1.54-mile speedway.

As always, children ages 14 and up can purchase pit access on Friday and Saturday.

Spectators with pre-race pit passes are allowed in the pit area until an hour prior to the start of each race on Labor Day Weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Pit passes are $125 for the weekend of $100 for Sunday only.

Another change this year is a relaxed dress code on pit road. Fans that plan to purchase pre-race pit passes can now wear shorts, open-toed shoes, sleeveless shirts, skirts and dresses on pit road all weekend long.

“This new policy opens up a great new opportunity to enhance the race day experience for fans of all ages,” said AMS President Ed Clark. “The chance to get up close to where the race action plays out later in the night provides icing to the cake for fans in attendance at the AdvoCare 500 weekend.”

The Course at Fontanel Free to the Public
(Nashville, Tennessee...) -- The grand opening of the newest addition to the 135-acre property of The Fontanel Mansion & Farm is The Course at Fontanel, a regulation disc golf course opening at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 2, 2011. The course will be open year around during the property operating hours Tuesday-Sunday, weather permitting, and will be free and open to the public with no tee times required. The Fontanel Mansion & Farm has become a cherished community asset since it opened just over a year ago, drawing both Middle Tennessee locals and visitors from near and far to its diverse offerings of music, family activities, an acclaimed restaurant, the popular Music City On Stage! dinner show, the trails and of course tours of the 27,000 square foot Fontanel Mansion.

"A large part of our master plan for the property was to have a place where our neighbors and visitors to the area could come free of charge to take a hike on our trails, have a picnic and enjoy the stunning beauty of this area," said Fontanel co-owner Marc Oswald. "Adding a regulation disc golf course that people can come and play for free is the perfect addition to that plan."

The 18-hole Course at Fontanel will meet Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA) guidelines for tournament play. The 7200-foot course was designed by avid disc golfer Chris Denton and will include elements for beginners and experts alike. The Course at Fontanel will be a nationally-ranked and sanctioned course that will host regional and national tournaments. A pro shop, featuring discs, bags, towels and refreshments will be located in the Stone House Gift Shop at Fontanel.

A majority of the 18 holes wind around the open areas of the Fontanel Mansion and Farm, with some of the more challenging holes entering the dense wooded areas that dominate the property. The course will be open from 7:30 am to dusk Tuesday through Sunday during normal operating hours.

"This course is unique in part because it is on private property instead of public land and the Farm House restaurant and pro shop give it a country club feel," said Denton. "We have holes rated as "double diamond" or expert holes, wide-open beginner-friendly holes, advanced-played holes, a shot over the creek, a 500' downhill shot that will take your breath away, and all in one of the most beautiful settings possible."

The sport, which the Disc Golf Association touts as the fastest-growing lifetime fitness activity, is very similar to regular or ball golf. Players carry a variety of discs used for long, short and mid-range shots, but carrying one disc is perfectly acceptable for players out for a fun afternoon. Golfers throw from tee pads and attempt to land the disc in the basket in as few throws - or shots - as possible. Each hole is assigned a par - or recommended number of throws - to each hole based on distance and terrain.

Inside Jack Clement's Burned Out Studio..on WSMV

Story from WSMV TV on Inside Cowboy Jack's Burned Out Studio

The story I did Monday June 27 about the fair....
DALLAS, Texas (NBC) -- A north Texas attorney tells an unforgettable story about his run-in with a monster alligator. While hunting with friends the Dallas-based attorney bagged a 14-foot long alligator that weighs almost 900 pounds. Officials say it's one of the largest gators ever found in Texas.

Even with trophies in his office, as big game hunting goes, attorney Levi McCathern is still a novice.

Levi says "I've been hunting since I was six. I try to hunt year round when I was growing up I hunted dove and quail."

McCathern had something bigger in mind on a recent hunting trip to Leon County. Something like alligators, McCathern learned the Trinity River was loaded with them, and just before his hunting trip ended he had a monster gator in his sites.

Levi says "How far are you when you take that shot? probably about 100, 110, 120 yards away. It went right in the brain, it was a perfect shot probably my luckiest shot."

For certain it's his most memorable. 14 feet long and nearly 900 pounds, one of the largest gators killed in state history.

Levi says "They took him to the town square in Crockett and just caused a traffic jam. My testosterone has been very high, my wife probably doesn't like it as much as she should I've been pretty big since I killed this alligator."

And the shark in this story has a new nickname.
