Kids Allowed in Pits at Atlanta Motor Speedway Due To New 2011 NASCAR Pit Road Policy HAMPTON, Ga. (June 28, 2011) – For years, family and NASCAR have been synonymous with one another. This year, children can do more than watch the cars from the grandstands, they can get close enough to touch them. Prior to the AdvoCare 500 on September 4, children of all ages have access to the pits via a new rule NASCAR instituted in 2011. With the purchase of a Sunday pre-race pit pass, kids will get to watch crew members prepare their racing machines and pit areas prior to 500 miles of racing on the high banks of the historic 1.54-mile speedway. As always, children ages 14 and up can purchase pit access on Friday and Saturday. Spectators with pre-race pit passes are allowed in the pit area until an hour prior to the start of each race on Labor Day Weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
