An Evening With Randy Travis

LOS ANGELES (May 25, 2011) –As part of the celebration honoring his 25-year career, The GRAMMY Museum will welcome legendary country icon Randy Travis for a special discussion and performance on June 15, 2011.  Warner Bros. Records will release Travis’ Anniversary Celebration duets CD on June  7, 2011.  Zac Brown Band, Kristin Chenoweth, Kenny Chesney, Don Henley, Alan Jackson, Jamey Johnson, George Jones, Kris Kristofferson, Tim McGraw, Willie Nelson, Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood are among the acclaimed artists that join Travis on Anniversary Celebration. The album includes new songs in addition to re-makes of many of Travis’ megahits. In support of his new CD, Travis will be performing on The Today Show (6/6,) Fox & Friends (6/7,) The Tonight Show (6/14,) and The Talk (6/15.)

As one of the most recognizable voices in music, Travis has achieved sales in excess of 20 million records. His impressive career successes include 18 No. 1 singles, seven GRAMMY® Awards, 10 Academy of Country Music Awards, 10 American Music Awards, two People’s Choice Awards, eight Dove Awards, five Country Music Association Awards and a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. 

The GRAMMY winner will sit down with GRAMMY Foundation Vice President Scott Goldman to discuss his celebrated career and new record before participating in an audience Q&A and performing a few songs. 

The GRAMMY Museum launched its flagship public program, “An Evening With…,” in January 2009 with music legend Brian Wilson and continued its success with critically-acclaimed recording artists Ringo Starr, Annie Lennox, Bob Newhart, Tom Morello, Dwight Yoakam, Jerry Lee Lewis, Dionne Warwick, Herbie Hancock, Smokey Robinson, John Mellencamp, Terence Blanchard, Herb Alpert and Lani Hall, George Benson, Paul Shaffer, Mavis Staples, Carly Simon, Harry Connick, Jr. and Clive Davis.  The program regularly features award-winning and cutting-edge musicians live and onstage.  Taking place in the Museum’s state-of-the-art Clive Davis Theater, which screens exhibit-related films during regular Museum hours, the program provides guests unprecedented access to their favorite musicians. 

“American Express Presents An Evening With Randy Travis” will take place at 8 p.m. in the Clive Davis Theater, on the second floor of The GRAMMY Museum.  Doors open at 7:30pm.
