Country singer Julie Roberts soared into the sky last weekend in a United States Air Force Thunderbirds F-16 jet. On Friday, May 6, Roberts took a break from working on her third studio album, ALIVE, to travel to the Smyrna, TN Airport to fly with Captain Kristin Hubbard, the #8 pilot for The Thunderbirds, who was practicing for the Great Tennessee Air Show [client interest] held May 7-8 at Smyrna Airport. Pulling 9 G's (9 times the force of gravity), Julie experienced the thrill of flight maneuvers and got a sense of the pride, precision, and professionalism that our 700,000 Airmen face every day. The Thunderbirds air demonstration squadron based at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, tour the United States and much of the world, performing aerobatic formation and solo flying in specially-marked USAF jet aircraft to showcase the integrity, selfless service, and excellence embodied by American Airmen everywhere.
