Opry Heads to Church! See May 14!


GRAND OLE OPRY SUPERSTARS ADD TO ARTIST LINE-UPS AS SHOW VENUES ARE ANNOUNCED FOR PERFORMANCES THROUGH JUNE 4
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - (May 7, 2010) -  Grand Ole Opry superstar Martina McBridetoday added her name to the list of artists scheduled to play the Grand Ole Opry in upcoming weeks, as the show makes visits to three Nashville venues in its schedule through June 4. The Opry was temporarily displaced from the Grand Ole Opry House earlier this week due to flooding. McBride, scheduled for the Tuesday Night Opry May 11, joins artists including Eric Church (May 18); Charlie Daniels Band (May 14, 18);Vince Gill (May 25); Alan Jackson (tomorrow); George Jones (May 11); Brad Paisley (tonight; May 25); Ricky Skaggs (tonight; May 15, 25); Mel Tillis (May 20); and Steve Wariner (May 25) scheduled for upcoming shows.
Venue locations for the shows include the Ryman Auditorium, the War Memorial Auditorium, and Two Rivers Baptist Church. The Ryman is the Opry’s most famous former home, having hosted the show 1943 - 1974. The War Memorial Auditorium  played host to the Opry 1939 – 1943 and again for a historic Opry performance last Tuesday, May 4, when the Opry House was flooded. Two Rivers Baptist Church, the Opry House’s neighbor at 2800 McGavock Pike, has never before hosted an Opry performance. Opry Country Classics shows previously scheduled for the Ryman Auditorium will remain at that venue.
Opry performances through June 4 will be at the Ryman Auditorium (116 5th Ave. North) unless noted below:
May 14, 15, 18: Two Rivers Baptist Church, 2800 McGavock Pike
May 22, June 1: War Memorial Auditorium, 301 6th Ave. North
