Chris Young Brings Home His Second Consecutive #1 Single with “The Man I Want to Be”

#1 Album Title Track Follows Chart-Topping Success of “Gettin’ You Home”

Currently Touring with Alan Jackson and on the Road This Summer with Rascal Flatts; Upcoming Grand Ole Opry Performances

NashvilleTN – RCA Nashville chart-topper Chris Young makes it two in a row this week as “The Man I Want to Be,” the title track to his latest album, becomes his second consecutive #1 single.  Young continues to be red-hot on the radio, as “The Man I Want to Be” finds his name atop Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart twice in a mere seven months, following the smash success of “Gettin’ You Home” this past October.

With the news, Young shared, “I was excited when I got my first #1, but having two back-to-back like this is mind-blowing.  I fell in love with this song the first time I heard it, and I’m so glad that country radio has loved it as much as I do.  It’s just an amazing feeling looking at the top of the chart and seeing my name.”

Beyond the airplay excitement, Chris has also been in-demand on the concert trail.  After opening a pair of dates on Miranda Lambert’s Roadside Bars & Pink Guitars Tour this past weekend, Young will be back on the road with Alan Jackson, as Jackson’s Freight Train Tour powers-up again this Thursday, May 13, with dates running through May 23.  Chris will then be joining Rascal Flatts from June 25 through September 19, opening the first leg of their JC Penney Presents Rascal Flatts Nothing Like This Tour.

This past Tuesday, Young appeared at Nashville’s War Memorial Auditorium, playing the Grand Ole Opry’s first performance after weekend flooding in Tennessee temporarily displaced the show from its permanent home at the Grand Ole Opry House.  Later this month, Young will be performing on the Opry Country Classics shows on May 20 and May 27, both from the Ryman Auditorium.  He is also currently slated for summer Opry appearances on June 22 and 29, as well as July 13.  Visit www.opry.com for additional information.
