BRAD PAISLEY RECEIVES PERSONAL CALL FROM PRESIDENT OBAMA
Relays Concern and FEMA Message to Nashville via Anderson Cooper 360
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 7, 2010) Brad Paisley was a special guest on
CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360 last night to reflect on the recent catastrophic flooding in
Nashville. During his interview
Paisley acknowledged that he had received a call from President Obama earlier in the day. The President was “checking on his friends at the Grand Ole Opry,” and expressing his concern for the city of
Nashville. During the conversation the President assured Brad that FEMA was in place in
Nashville and serving and Brad was able to reinforce this message to the people of
Nashville during his Cooper interview. On May 4 President Obama declared a disaster for
Tennessee so families whose homes have been damaged by floods may be able to receive direct aid to help in the rebuilding process. To do so they need to register by phoning 1-800-621-FEMA or online at
www.disasterassistance.gov.
During the Cooper interview Brad also gave an update on the Grand Ole Opry, “it’s a show – not a place, and the show goes on” as well as confirmed his participation in an upcoming GAC national telethon to aid Nashville flood victims, Music City Keep On Playin’,which will air live on Sunday, May 16 8:00 – 10:00pm Eastern on Great American Country television from the Ryman Auditorium.
