RETCHEN WILSON HAS EXTREME VANTAGE POINT FOR TALLADEGA RACE Watches Aarons 499 From Mark Martin's Pit |
(Nashville, Tennessee...) - Redneck Records artist Gretchen Wilson has been a racing fan ever since her uncle raced dirt tracks back in Illinois. She moved up a few notches this past weekend, when she performed an infield concert at the Talladega Superspeedway Saturday night and hung out in the pits of her favorite driver, Mark Martin, on Sunday. "When my uncle raced dirt tracks, I got to clean the mud out of the wheel wells with a 2x4 during a race," said Gretchen. "I thought I was part of the pit crew! This weekend was a little different - couple hundred thousand more people, huge track and much nicer pits!" Gretchen hung out in Mark Martin's pit for the majority of Sunday's Aaron's 499 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race and stood at the wall to see first-hand how to change four tires and add fuel in less than 15 seconds. She was also invited to watch the race on Martin's pit box, which gave her a great vantage point to view the action and listen to the communications between Martin and his crew chief. Following the race, renowned car owner Rick Hendrick, whose Hendrick Motorsports owns the cars of Mark Martin, Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. among others, invited Gretchen to be his guest in Victory Lane following Johnson's win of the most hotly-contested Aaron's 499 in history. Gretchen and her buddies Big & Rich, Cowboy Troy and Two Foot Fred will hit the road in June for Xtreme Music The Tour for dates nationwide. Visitwww.GretchenWilson.com for dates, tickets and more. |
