FAN VOTES EARN THE BAND PERRY A BIG WIN FOR “NEW ARTIST OF THE YEAR” AT ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS
TBP Celebrates Break-Through Award, First Gold Album Certification,
Prepares to Hit the Road with Tim McGraw’s Emotional Traffic Tour

Las Vegas, Nevada (April 4, 2011) – The Band Perry’s fans have spoken. Country music lovers voted overwhelmingly for The Band Perry to win the coveted title of "NEW ARTIST OF THE YEAR" at the Academy of Country Music Awards last night in Las Vegas. It was the second ACM win earned this year by the family band, who in March, accepted an early fan-voted award for "NEW DUO OR GROUP OF THE YEAR."
Their acceptance speech focused on family - from their parents, to their "extended family" of record label and radio, and in particular, to their fans.

"We are a family band, so first my brothers and I would like to thank our parents, Steve and Marie Perry. We would like to thank the beautiful fans of Country music who sing along with us every night. You guys spend your free time and spare change to support what we all do. We are so grateful for your support...our songs belong to you," said Kimberly Perry from the stage, visibly moved by the moment.

President of Republic Nashville, Jimmy Harnen celebrated along with TBP, saying, "It was just an amazing night for The Band Perry and the entire Big Machine Label Group. When they announced TBP's win they had to pull me out of the rafters!  Kimberly, Neil and Reid have worked so hard and we could not be more happy and proud of them on their ACM Award."

For Kimberly, Reid and Neil Perry, the weekend held another milestone - the celebration of their first Gold album. Last February, their self-titled debut album, THE BAND PERRY, achieved RIAA certification for sales of more than 500,000 after just four months in stores. The Gold plaque presentation was held on Saturday (4/2), attended by close friends and supporters, and hosted by label, Republic Nashville at the WME Suite at The Hotel at Mandalay Bay.

Next up for The Band Perry, they will join Tim McGraw's Emotional Traffic Tour on Friday, April 8 in Corpus Christi, TX and will perform during the CBS "Girl's Night Out" special which is set to air Friday, April 22, at 9:00 PM ET on CBS.

ABOUT THE BAND PERRY: The self-titled debut album by the family band was released in October 2010 and just four months later, it was certified Gold. The trio’s “modern throwback” style combines classic Country with an eclectic infusion of Rock, Gospel and Soul. As songwriters and musicians, their sound is distinct and rounded out by the rare magic of perfect three-part harmonies. Their first single, the up-tempo “Hip To My Heart” was a Top 20 hit, followed by the inspiring, reflective “If I Die Young,” which reached #1, was certified Platinum and racked up over 18 million views on YouTube. The Band Perry recently revealed their third single, “You Lie.” The sassy anthem of a woman scorned features wordplay that proves the pen is mightier than the sword. “You Lie” is TBP’s fastest-climbing radio single to date. Having previously garnered Grammy, CMA and ACA nominations, The Band Perry recently earned their first ACM Awards for "NEW DUO OR GROUP OF THE YEAR" and the coveted "NEW ARTIST OF THE YEAR." On April 8, they will join Tim McGraw’s Emotional Traffic Tour in Corpus Christi, TX.
