RODNEY ATKINS TO PERFORM AS PART OF 85TH ANNIVERSARY MACY’S THANKSGIVING DAY PARADE®
Nashville, Tenn. (Wednesday, November 2, 2011) – The nation’s favorite holiday tradition, the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade®, goes country this year with the addition of platinum-selling hit-maker Rodney Atkins to its performer line-up. On Thursday, Nov. 24, 2011 at 9 a.m. the 85th Anniversary celebration will take over New York City with over 8,000 participants including whimsical characters, performance groups, marching bands, celebrities, Santa Claus and more. Fans can expect to hear Atkins performing fan-favorite hits and new songs including the No. 1 chart-topping title track from his latest album, "Take A Back Road," as part of the day’s festivities.
"I am so excited this year getting to play the 85th Anniversary Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade®," said Atkins. "Everyone knows on Thanksgiving morning to get up, turn on the TV and watch the parade, so to be an actual participant is going to be fun and I'm looking forward to it. I am gonna have to put on my deer hunting gear though to stay warm!"
Additional performers this year include Mary J. Blige, Cobra Starship, Neil Diamond, Cee Lo Green, Avril Lavigne, Scotty McCreery, Daniel Radcliff and the cast of Broadway’s “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying” and more.
