Nashville, TN – RCA recording artist Jake Owen is very excited about the next few weeks. For starters, he turns 30 on Sunday, August 28. Jake will celebrate his birthday in Dallas, TX at the American Airlines Arena while he is in town performing on Keith Urban’s Get Closer World Tour, which continues through mid-October.

 

Jake's hit single "Barefoot Blue Jean Night" entered the Top Five this week on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart and Country Aircheck. The song has been touted 2011's summer anthem. It is also the fastest rising single of Jake's career and the first single from his forthcoming album being released on August 29.

 

In addition, "Barefoot Blue Jean Night" was recently certified a Digital Gold Single by the RIAA and is rapidly approaching Platinum with over 800,000 downloads to date.

 

Just announced this morning, Jake and The Band Perry and will announce the final nominees in five CMA Awards categories live from the "Good Morning America" studios in the heart of New York City's Times Square on the ABC Television Network. The announcement will air in the 8:30 AM/ET half-hour segment of the morning news program. During the broadcast, Jake will also perform "Barefoot Blue Jean Night." 

 

Jake is most excited about his third studio album being released on Monday. “I finally got to make the record I’ve always wanted to make,” says Jake. “I think it really represents who I am more than anything I've ever recorded. If nothing else happens after this, I can honestly say that I did the absolute best that I can do. I’ve never felt this good about music, or anything in my career, as I do right now. I can’t wait for people to hear it.”

 

His buoyant optimism is justified. Barefoot Blue Jean Night brims with vocal self-confidence and a superbly chosen stack of songs.
