2010 CCMA Awards Nominees Announced

Edmonton, AB (July 28, 2010) – The Canadian Country Music Association today announced the nominees for the 2010 CCMA awards at a press conference held in Edmonton, AB.  The awards show will take place Sunday, September 12, at Rexall Place in Edmonton and new floor seats have been released today to celebrate the announcement of the 2010 CCMA Awards nominees.

It’s been a great year for Gord Bamford, and he leads the count with an outstanding six nominations.  He is nominated in every category for which he is eligible, including the coveted Fans’ Choice category. His recently released album, “Day Job”, has been met with applause by fans and critics alike, a telling sign of good things to come.

Tied with 5 nominations apiece are last year’s Single of the Year winner Dean Brody, reigning Group of the Year Doc Walker, six-time Roots Artist of the Year winner Corb Lund and 2009’s Top Selling Canadian Album winner, Johnny Reid.

Multiple nominations have also been awarded to country stars and fan favourites Victoria BanksGeorge CanyonTerri Clark,Jessie Farrell, The Higgins and One More Girl.

The 2010 CCMA Awards show will be broadcast on Sunday, September 12 from Rexall Place at 8 PM and will be broadcast nationally on CBC and CMT.
