Nashville - (September 15, 2014) – Country superstar Luke Bryan took his “That’s My Kind of Night Tour” to New York this past weekend, making his second appearance this year in Manhattan’s iconic Madison Square Garden on Friday night and Brooklyn’s Barclays Arena last night, selling out both concert stops. Luke also played shows in Connecticut and New Hampshire, selling out both of those dates as well.
A second concert in Los Angeles was just added to the calendar at the Forum on Oct. 26, which now closes out for the tour for 2014. Luke plays the Hollywood Bowl, for his first time, on Oct. 25.
During the Madison Square Garden show on Sept. 12 Luke paid homage to Sept. 11, 2001 performing an impromptu “Star-Spangled Banner” with opener Lee Brice. The rendition left the crowd speechless through the song but chanting “U.S.A.,” “U.S.A.” when it ended. Luke also thanked the audience, “It’s awesome to come to this amazing city and do my music. Thank-you, New York City!”
Luke’s “That’s My Kind of Night Tour” continues this week with shows in San Antonio, Houston and Dallas, Texas.
Earlier this month Luke garnered three CMA Award nominations as Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist and Album for Crash My Party, which has sold over 2 million copies and 7.8 million digital tracks. The “48th Annual CMA Awards” airs Nov. 5 from Nashville on ABC.
Since the debut of his first album in 2007, Luke has sold nearly 6.2 million albums, 23.1 million digital tracks from his four studio albums and placed 10 singles at No. 1. Luke made recent Billboard chart history when he reached the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart with “Play It Again” and “This Is How We Roll” with Florida Georgia Line claiming the No. 2 spot. Luke becomes the first artist to ever hold the two top positions since the chart began in 1990.
