NASHVILLE - July 21, 2014 - GRAMMY nominated country superstar, Blake Shelton, celebrated a sold-out stadium show at Chicago's Wrigley Field this weekend, topping out capacity with over 40,000 fans in attendance. Joining the short list of artists who have performed at the iconic setting, Shelton is only the fourth country artist to have ever appeared at the 100 year-old ballpark. Currently on the road for his "Ten Times Crazier Tour 2014," which also includes sold-out shows August 1st at NYC's Madison Square Garden and October 4th at Los Angeles' Hollywood Bowl, Shelton was quick to thank his fans.
"This proves once again that country music has the best and most-dedicated fans around. I love each and every person for joining me at Wrigley Field last night and just hope everybody had as much fun as I did," Shelton said. "I'm really proud to represent country music everywhere, but especially excited to have shared this occasion with all the fans in Chicago at such a historic landmark."
Adding to his list of impressive feats this year, Shelton, who is CMA Awards reigning Male Vocalist of the Year for the 4th consecutive year and the 2013 recipient of Album of the Year for his platinum-selling album, Based On a True Story
, just celebrated making music history with his 12th consecutive No. 1 single, "My Eyes," (his 17th No. 1 overall) earning the most consecutive No. 1 records atop the country airplay charts by an artist.
