ALAN JACKSON AND CAPITOL RECORDS NASHVILLE NOMINATED FOR MASHABLE’S VIRAL CAMPAIGN OF THE YEAR AWARD

Nashville, TN – Country superstar Alan Jackson, Capitol Records Nashville and Eventful are nominated for Viral Campaign of the Year at the fifth annual Mashable Awards for a campaign that gave music fans the opportunity to vote for a free Alan Jackson concert in their city. Other nominated campaigns include Coca-Cola, Diesel, Kraft, NoH8, Occupy Wallstreet and Old Spice. Final voting closes on December 16 and the winners will be announced on December 19 (http://on.mash.to/vBrI6j).

Mineral, VA, a small town with a population of 490 won the free Alan Jackson concert with over 31,000 votes during the campaign that was designed and executed by Eventful’s Demand it!™ service. Voting brought the small town, which was the epicenter of a rare East Coast earthquake on August 23, together as they continue to repair and rebuild. The concert will take place in 2012 and details will be announced once a date is set.
