(Oct. 24, 2012) The Grand Ole Opry® will celebrate the 80th anniversary of “I’ll Fly Away,” one of the world’s most beloved Gospel songs, with a special performance led by Vince Gill during this Saturday’s 7:00 p.m. Grand Ole Opry show. “I’ll Fly Away” was written by Albert Brumley, writer of more than 600 published gospel songs including “Turn Your Radio On,” “I’ll Meet You In The Morning,” and “This World Is Not My Home.” Information on the “I’ll Fly Away” Foundation created by the Brumley family can be found at www.illflyawayfoundation.org
Gill, Nashville’s top male Grammy®-winner, will be joined at the Opry Saturday by Alison Krauss, the top female Grammy®-winner ever, as well as other award-winners including Matraca Berg and the Charlie Daniels Band. Show times are 7:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
