Finally the story of Mel Tillis in the hospital this week:
Mel Tillis is recovering from surgery at Nashville' s Centennial Hospital...Friends reported his hospitalization earlier this week...His manager Don Grubbs says Mel is on the road to recovery....Doctors say he is right on track..awake and watching television"....Mel was scheduled to work on a celebrity country music cruise out of Fort Lauderdale.....Grubbs described the reports of Mel's failing health as exaggerated.. (Mel Tillis is 83 pretty standard procedure to have a patient of his age in "critical" after emergency surgery--managers hate for conditions or even cancellations to be reported as they might hurt bookings--so understandable the frustration...Mel's friends used the words critical and the media reported what the friends said...FYI)
From the Country cruise people: “We regret that Mel Tillis will not be joining us on the Country Music Cruise 2016,” the cruise announced. “Mel has had to have emergency colon surgery. We have been told that he is doing fine, but will need several weeks of recovery time. We wish him a full and speedy recovery and hope he can join us on a future cruise.”
