MIRANDA LAMBERT IS “ON FIRE” IN 2012
NASHVILLE, TN – Miranda Lambert returns to the stage of her “On Fire” Tour tonight, after two weeks away that included a performance of “America The Beautiful” at the Super Bowl with her husband Blake Shelton, a Grammy filled weekend where she presented Country Album of the Year and performed at Clive Davis’ Grammy Pre-Gala, one of the most prestigious events of the year, and she made her acting debut on her favorite show, Law & Order: SVU.
Her “On Fire” Tour is hot and one of the most sought after tickets this year. Miranda takes the stage this weekend with near capacity crowds in Amherst, MA and Hershey, PA and a sold out show in Youngstown, OH, which sold out the day tickets went on sale. The tour kicked off on January 12 with back to back sold out performances in Rockford, IL and La Crosse, WI. Other sell-outs included Baltimore, MD and Charlottesville, VA and Huntsville, AL.
Miranda’s new single, “Over You,” written by Miranda and Blake about his brother who died in a car accident when Blake was a teenager, is one of the fastest rising singles of her career. The song has taken on even deeper meaning with the recent passing of her father-in-law and her longtime friend Mark "Tex" Adams. “Over You” is currently Top 20 and climbing on the country airplay charts.
Four The Record was certified Gold just before the New Year and Miranda made history by becoming the first country artist in the 47 year history of the Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart to have each of her first four albums debut at # 1.
