JAKE OWEN WRAPS-UP SUCCESSFUL YEAR WITH RISING SINGLE, SOLD OUT SHOWS AND CHARITABLE EFFORT!

Owen To Host His Annual Charity Event This Week

Nashville, TN – (December 8, 2009) RCA Nashville recording artist Jake Owen finishes out his most successful year with sold-out shows, a fast-rising single, and an opportunity to give back. This weekend Owen played to capacity crowds in Chicago, Grand Rapids, and Columbia, MO, selling out the popular Joe’s Bar in Chicago, where he surprised fans with an intimate acoustic moment showcasing one of his songs with only his vocal and a cello.

The Chicago Tribune noted, “Owen’s shows have spontaneity and swagger…what you will hear is one of the most underappreciated voices in country music. A husky, rich baritone that seems to suit the lyrics he writes. If he's singing his current hit, ‘Eight Second Ride,’ you'll hear confidence. If he's breaking out the rural celebration of ‘Yee Haw,’ you'll hear his wild side. On ‘Startin’ With Me,’ you'll hear introspection.”

These exciting shows are just another part of Owen's success. His self-penned new single "Eight Second Ride" continues to climb the Country radio charts and sits at #13 this week.

Also this week, Owen will head to his hometown of Vero Beach, FL, Friday for his 4th annual Mardy’s Tennis & Jake’s Music Fest to benefit the Mardy Fish Foundation. He hosts the charity event with his best friend, tennis ace Mardy Fish and it includes a tennis showcase, golf pro-am, and concert. It is sold out for the fourth consecutive year.

Since releasing his debut album, Startin' With Me, RCA Nashville recording artist Jake Owen has celebrated five consecutive hit singles including Top 15 debut single, “Yee Haw,” the Top 10 “Startin’ With Me,” the Top 15 “Something About A Woman,” and his Top 5 “Don’t Think I Can’t Love You.” His current single “Eight Second Ride” just entered the top 15 on the Country radio charts. In the last two years, Owen made his national TV debut on ABC’s “Good Morning America” and has toured non-stop with the biggest names in Country Music including Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood, Alan Jackson, Brooks & Dunn and Sugarland. Jake has received nominations for Country Music Association (CMA) Awards, a GRAMMY Award, and was named “Top New Male Vocalist” at the Academy of Country Music Awards this past April. His sophomore album, Easy Does It, hit stores on February 24, 2009.

I've always been a believer in the strength of the song. My problem is I'm a country singer who's had a lot of other musical influences, so my stuff is going to tend to be more AC. That's always been my slam in country music, that I was never a true country artist, even though ...
