What a HUGE mess....Michigan concert flood

About a thousand concertgoers in Michigan were forced to ditch their cars Saturday as rising floodwaters led to a mass evacuation, Grand Rapids news station WOODTV reported.

Celebrants at radio station B-93’s annual birthday bash at the Ionia County fairgrounds were evacuated by Michigan State Police as heavy rain flooded parking lot exits. They were reportedly told to take personal belongings from their vehicles and leave them.

An emergency shelter set up by the American Red Cross at a nearby middle school took in about 130 people, WOODTV.com reported. Day 2 of the two-day festival was canceled as rain continues to fall.

The National Weather Service said the most severe flooding problems were reported in nearby Holland, where workers dealt with stranded motorists, downed trees, power outages and other flood-related emergencies. Flood warnings were issued for all of Allegan, Clinton, Ionia andOttawa counties until Sunday night.
