IN AUSTRALIA AND UNITED KINGDOM
BLOWN AWAY Album Debuts at #1 in Both Countries
Nashville, TN – (July 5, 2012) - Superstar Carrie Underwood has just returned from the United Kingdom and Australia where she wrapped a promotional media tour as well as a very successful string of concerts on “The Blown Away Tour.” Her new album, BLOWN AWAY, was recently released in both countries, debuting at #1 on the UK and Australian Country Charts respectively.
Carrie’s trip included her first-ever show in the United Kingdom at London’s prestigious Royal Albert Hall, which sold out in 90 minutes. The concert performance received rave reviews, garnering 4 stars from the Evening Standard.
While in the UK, Carrie performed a private show at the Dover Street Arts Club for some of the UK's biggest media outlets and journalists, visited the Prime Minister’s residence at 10 Downing Street, and held a CD signing event for her UK fans at London’s Oxford Street HMV. She also interviewed with various print, online, radio and television outlets including interviews with Steve Wright and Bob Harris on BBC Radio 2, as well as performances on BBC Breakfast, Loose Women, and more.
The Australian leg of Carrie’s trip brought “The Blown Away Tour” to Melbourne, Tamworth, and Brisbane, wrapping at the iconic Sydney Opera House where ticket demand in the market led to the addition of a second show.
During her Australian tour, Carrie made appearances on many of the country’s high profile radio and television shows including Sunrise, the Today Show, and more.
