PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (December 14, 2016)  – Millions watched  Smoky Mountains Rise: A Benefit for the My People Fund  telethon and millions were raised. The telethon, broadcast on GAC, AXS-TV, RFD and The Heartland Network Tuesday, received huge donations from music stars like Taylor Swift, Kenny Chesney, Chris Stapleton, Chris Young, Paul Simon and Dierks Bentley but also from families across the country who just want to give the people of Dolly’s home area a hand up in the tragic wildfires. “I am overwhelmed by the generosity of the people who have donated from all over the country and to my friends who donated their time, their talent, and money for My People,” Dolly Parton explained. “The response has been so overwhelming that we haven’t been able to count all of the donations yet; right now, in total, we have raised about $9 million dollars for the folks who lost everything in Sevier County.” The total amount raised is expected to rise as mail donations are counted and the teleth

Granger Smith Hospitalized in NJ after Stage Accident

Nashville, TN (December 3, 2016) - Granger Smith was injured last night while performing a show at the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, New Jersey. Granger was standing on a monitor when it gave way, bringing Granger crashing off the stage into a metal barricade. Miraculously, Granger managed to get up and finish the set through excruciating pain, which ended with the crowd singing "Backroad Song." After visiting a nearby Emergency Room, he was transferred and admitted to a Level 1 trauma center in New Brunswick, NJ and doctors confirmed two completely separated, broken ribs and a punctured and partially collapsed lung. The latest reports are encouraging and Granger hopes to get back home to his family in Texas to rest soon. All shows and appearances through the weekend are canceled and further information about subsequent shows will be forthcoming.

Dolly Begins the East Tennessee Fire Help..

Fund will provide monthly assistance to those who lost homes in wildfires PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (November 30, 2016)  – In a  video message released this evening, Dolly Parton announced a new effort by The Dollywood Company and The Dollywood Foundation to establish a fund to assist the victims of the Great Smoky Mountain wildfires in Tennessee. The new  My People Fund  will provide $1000 each month to Sevier County families who lost their homes.   “I’ve always believed charity begins at home and my home is some place special,” Parton explained. “That’s why I’ve asked my Dollywood Companies—including the Dollywood theme park, and DreamMore Resort; my dinner theater attractions including Dixie Stampede and Lumberjack Adventure; and my Dollywood Foundation—to help me establish the My People Fund. “We want to provide a hand up to those families who have lost everything in the fires. (December 1, 2016)  – A sell-out event, the  Charlie Daniels 80th Birthday Volunteer Jam  hit a capacity of 15,784 patrons in the building and was a star-studded show  with a portion of the proceeds benefitting  The Journey Home Project .
