The launch is expected at 2:14 p.m. It will carry highly sophisticated satellite system used by the military into space. Officials said they have been working on it for years.
As for Endeavour, teams are still trying to determine what caused a circuit inside the power box to short out. We also know technicians at Launch Pad 39A continue testing various systems inside Endeavour associated with a newly installed power distribution box.
So far, all systems have checked out.
There is no installation or body of land called "Cape Kennedy." NASA Kennedy Space Center (KSC) is on Merritt Island. Cape Canaveral Space Force Station is adjacent on nearby Cape Canaveral, connected to KSC by a causeway. Numerous launches of rockets occur from both places.
